Two stair towers that provide access between the Plaza Garage and the East Capitol Campus will be closed for maintenance work during parts of February and March.
Stair tower #1, near the Employment Security Building, will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Feb. 19 through Feb. 22 for painting and to make repairs to window frames, concrete and doors. It will be reopened at 3 p.m. each day so employee can return to their vehicles at the end of the work day.
When stair tower #1 is closed, employees should use stair tower #8, which is just a few yards to the west, towards Capitol Way.
Once the repairs are complete in stair tower #1, Enterprise Services will close stair tower #8 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 25 through March 8 to do the same maintenance work there. Employees should use stair tower #1 an as alternate.
