A Reminder to be Assertive and Aware when using Capitol Campus Facilities

Washington State Patrol recently made a car prowling arrest in the Plaza Garage. The Department of Enterprise Services would like to remind anyone using Capitol Campus parking facilities to:

  1. Always roll up all vehicle windows.
  2. Always lock all vehicle doors.
  3. Avoid leaving valuables in your vehicle.
  4. If you see something suspicious, say something. Call the parking office at (360) 725-0030 if you notice any unusual occurrences, suspicious individuals or hazardous situations.
  5. Always dial 911 in the case of an emergency.

General parking garage safety reminders include:

  • Park within the designated lines to avoid damage or inconvenience to others.
  • Follow posted speed limits (12 m.p.h. in Capitol Campus parking areas).
  • Be alert and watch for pedestrians. Pedestrians have the right of way.
  • Stop at stop signs.
  • Turn on your headlights.

Thank you for your vigilance and assistance in supporting a safe campus environment.
