Changes to Contracts Training

Due to changes to procurement laws effective January 1, 2013, all of the contract training will be restructured and new classes will be offered. The new procurement training requirements and classes will be posted when they are finalized.

New registration process and Logon Screen for DES Training

As of March 29, 2012 all DES training will be managed through the Learning Management System (LMS). State agency staff will need to log into the LMS to register for training. This is where you will find the new fall training catalog. To login to the LMS you will need to fill out the pre-authorization form shown below and submit it to the service center. Once your account is created you may login to the LMS and register for DES available classes.

System requirement for LMS

  • Internet Explorer 6 and higher
  • Firefox 2.0.10 and higher
  • Google Chrome
  • Apple Safari version 3.2 and higher

Registration prerequisite

State Employees: are required to contact their agency's training representative (click here for a list of training representatives) to request an account for the LMS. If you do not see your agency on the list, please contact your supervisor.
NOTE: If you are the agency's registrar, please contact the DES Customer Business Support at (360) 664-1921.

Higher education employees: Due to the new requirements for procurement training and certification under procurement reform, Enterprise Services has a new process for registering higher education employees in the LMS. Please review and follow these instructions for your organization.

Training location

Unless otherwise specified, most of the DES instructor-led training will be conducted in the training center located in the 1500 Jefferson Building in Olympia. Please refer to the following documents for more details about the location, direction, transportation, and parking information.

To register for the LMS

Higher education employees: Please follow these instructions.

State agency employees: If state agency staff are not registered as LMS users, they must complete the pre-authorization form prior to registering. Send the completed form to A confirmation will be sent to you once the pre-authorization has been completed.

After the registration process has been completed, use the link to access LMS.

If you are an existing user in the LMS you may continue to login and register for DES available classes. However, the first time you use the new logon screen, it will require you to reset your password. Please click on the "forgot password" on the home screen of the LMS and follow the instructions.

Note: Please double check to see whether your registration confirmation email is sent to your junk email folder.
