  • Auto Physical Damage covers physical damage only to scheduled vehicles.

Aviation

  • Excess Aviation Liability provides liability coverage including passenger liability for losses arising out of the operation of an aircraft and/or an airport.
  • Aviation Liability & Hull Insurance provides coverage for any kind of direct and accidental physical damage or loss to aircraft hull and coverage for bodily injury, personal injury and property damage liability.

Boiler & Machinery

  • Boiler and Machinery provides coverage for damage to boilers and/or equipment (used for the generation, transmission, or utilization of energy) resulting from mechanical breakdown and explosion.

Bonds

  • Public Employees Fidelity Blanket Bond (Employee Crime) covers losses sustained by the state due to fraudulent or dishonest act or acts committed by a state employee. This bond is renewed annually. View a copy of the bond.
  • Public Officials Bond provides coverage for loss of money or other personal property sustained by the state of Washington as a result of a public official who fails to do his or her duties as such. The bond covers positions and not individuals who hold the position. The bond is renewed every four years following a gubernatorial election.   • Safekeeping of Public Property Bond – indemnity agreement between DOT and US Army for the loan of military equipment. This bond renews every three years.
  • Land Lease Bond - agreement between the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and the Port of Friday Harbor.
  • Notary Bonds – between 500 and 600 notary bonds are purchased each year to enable state employees to serve as notaries public. More information on Notary Bonds can be found here.

Cyber Liability

  • The state of Washington purchases property insurance through the Alliant Property Insurance Program (APIP).
  • APIP includes a limited Cyber Liability Insurance policy, thus, agencies participating in the APIP property program also have some Cyber Liability Insurance.
  • Includes coverage for security & privacy liability, regulatory defense & penalties, web site media content liability, cyber extortion loss, first party data loss, and first party network business interruption loss. Also included are legal, forensic, and notification services to assist the state in responding to a data security breach incident.

Equipment Floater

  • This policy provides physical damage coverage for off-road equipment being rented by state agencies. For example; DOT might purchase this insurance to cover heavy equipment rented for road work, snow removal, etc.

Excess Liability

  • Excess Liability protects the state’s self-insurance liability program for damages in excess of the self-insured retentions that the state is legally obligated to pay arising from personal injury, property damage, advertising injury, or errors and omissions to a third party.

  • Provides coverage for fine arts and collectibles that are owned by or loaned to the state.

  • The Master Marine policy provides liability and hull & machinery coverage for ferry vessels owned by the Department of Transportation Marine Division including terminals, quays and docks.
  • Excess Marine Liability provides excess protection and indemnity as well as excess collision liability. Pollution liability is excluded.
  • Marine (non-ferries) policies provide hull & machinery, liability, pollution and excess liability coverage for watercraft under 26 feet in length and powered by no more than 50 hp.
