Enterprise Services has issued a permit for a rally this weekend that organizers say could bring up to 2,500 people to the state Capitol Campus in Olympia. The event is expected to affect traffic and parking on the campus.

Many rally participants are expected to openly carry firearms, as allowed under state law. There is no prohibition against openly carrying guns on the grounds of the state Capitol Campus in Olympia.

The “March for Our Rights” rally is scheduled from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Tivoli Fountain and nearby lawn areas. Set-up begins at 10:30 a.m. Both diagonals and the traffic circle around the Winged Victory Monument will be closed.

As with many campus events, the Washington State Patrol (WSP) will have troopers on duty during the rally.

WSP advises anyone who perceives a threat on the Capitol grounds at any time to call 9-1-1.
