Most Capitol Campus buildings will be without heat or hot water from about 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3 while Enterprise Services repairs a leak in the steam system at the campus powerhouse.

The affected buildings include:

  • Archives
  • Cherberg
  • Employment Security
  • General Administration
  • Governor's residence
  • Highways-Licenses
  • Insurance
  • Legislative
  • Newhouse
  • O'Brien
  • Office Building 2
  • Pritchard
  • Temple of Justice

Enterprise Services Buildings and Grounds staff recently discovered a water leak in the steam generation equipment at the Capitol Campus powerhouse, the building with the tall smokestack next to Capitol Lake.

The leak must be repaired quickly to avoid damage to the equipment. Repairing the leak requires an outage of the entire steam system.

The powerhouse burns natural gas to produce steam for heating and hot water in most campus buildings.
