Hazardous trees to be removed at Centennial Park March 18

On Tuesday, March 18, a contractor hired by Enterprise Services will remove two unhealthy trees from Centennial Park, at Washington Street and Union Avenue, on the state Capitol Campus.

The two trees — a cottonwood and an alder — have been identified as dangerous because of their declining health and the possibility that they might cause injury or property damage.

Centennial Park is home to Olympia's largest Redwood tree, which is believed to be 140 years old.
