"March for Life" rally to draw thousands to capitol Jan. 20

The Department of Enterprise Services has issued a permit for the 2015 "March for Life" rally.

The rally is scheduled from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at the north steps of the Legislative Building.

Due to the large number of participants, the rally will take up most of the space between the Legislative Building and the Temple of Justice. View the Capitol Campus map.

Rally organizers estimate that up to 4,500 people will attend the event this year, affecting traffic and parking on the west Capitol Campus on Jan. 22. The south diagonal drive on the west campus will be closed before and during the event.

Event participants will begin gathering at about 11 a.m. near the Winged Victory Monument, the statue located in the traffic circle near the Legislative Building, and then march to the north steps just before noon.

This is the 36th year that the March for Life rally has been held on the campus.
