Reminder: Bidders to unveil new campus building designs March 19

OLYMPIA – Tomorrow evening, three teams of architectural design and construction professionals will present to the public their proposals for a new state-owned office building planned for the block at 1063 S. Capitol Way in Olympia.

The Department of Enterprise Services will host the open house on Wednesday, March 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Office Building 2 auditorium, 1115 Washington St. S.E., Olympia.

The public can also watch and participate in the meeting using WebEx, a web-based videoconferencing application. View instructions on participating via WebEx.

The three teams competing for the proposed building design are:

  • Hoffman Construction of Portland, Belay Architecture of Tacoma and GBD Architects of Portland.
  • Sellen Construction Company of Seattle and ZGF Architects of Portland with an office in Seattle.
  • Mortenson Construction Company of Minneapolis with a regional office in Kirkland and SRG Partnership Inc. of Portland with a regional office in Seattle.

Each team will make a 30-minute presentation about their design proposal. Attendees and WebEx viewers will have an opportunity to ask questions and make comments after each overview.

Enterprise Services will announce the apparent successful winning team in late March.

Free visitor parking is available on the P1 level of the Natural Resources Building, located next to Office Building 2. Access to the parking lot is from Washington Street.
