Tree removal and roof work to begin at Natural Resources Building Saturday

Tree removal and roof work will begin at the Natural Resources Building on the east Capitol Campus Saturday, Aug. 2. Fencing and scaffolding will be set up in preparation for the work on Aug. 1.

On Aug. 2, a dump truck and a crane will begin removing rock ballast roofing on the west side of the building. Capitol Campus visitors and neighbors can expect noise and possible diesel odors. The project will ultimately replace 60,000 square feet of roof on the building.

Excavation and tree removal work on the east side of the building also will begin Aug. 2. Several trees located near the multi-purpose room will be removed to make room for repairs to prevent water infiltration to the building.

Work areas on both the east and west sides of the building will be closed to traffic. Work is expected to last through November 2014.
