Utility work to impact west campus parking, traffic March 15

There will be no parking along Sid Snyder Avenue, on the west Capitol Campus, from about 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, March 15.

Engineers under contract with Enterprise Services will be excavating small holes in the roadway to locate and examine the condition of underground utilities. The work is needed to prepare for a summertime project that will replace old, failing utility lines and pipes beneath the road.

The road will be open to traffic during Saturday's work, but there will be some brief delays throughout the day. Flaggers will be on site to manage traffic.

A large vacuum truck will be used to assist with the excavation work, creating noise throughout the day.

All of the holes will be patched by the end of the day and the road will be restored to its previous condition.

The summer project will require the full closure of Sid Snyder Avenue for up to two months. The project is tentatively scheduled to begin in July.
