State seeks bids for Lean consultants

Aug. 30, 2012

OLYMPIA — The Department of Enterprise is soliciting bids from vendors who can assist state government in furthering development of Lean practices.

The department is establishing a master contract with multiple qualified vendors who can offer Lean consulting to all customers of Enterprise Services. These include state, federal and local government organizations as well as public benefit non-profit corporations.

Vendor pools will be established in three categories. Interested vendors may submit a bid for any or all.

All categories include a component of coaching, mentoring and training state employees to become internal Lean practitioners. Gov. Chris Gregoire has directed all state agencies to use Lean principles and methods to improve value for taxpayers' money.

Vendors can review the bid by registering on WEBS (Washington's Electronic Business Solution). This is an online notification system for contract opportunities.

Questions about this solicitation should be directed to Cathy Moxley, Enterprise Services contracts specialist, at (360) 407-9434, or cathy.moxley@des.wa.gov.

As part of its duties, Enterprise Services develops and manages contracts on behalf of state agencies.
