Seasonal shutdown of west campus fountain set for Oct. 27

The Tivoli Fountain, the popular water feature on the west Capitol Campus, will be turned off for the winter season on Monday, Oct. 27.

In an ongoing effort to diagnose suspected leaks, Enterprise Services will use a gradual shut-down process this year to monitor water movement through the fountain's plumbing and drains as pressure is lowered.

The shut-down will begin Monday, Oct. 13 with a reduction of water pressure and slowing of the fountain's choreographed water movements. The gradual lowering will continue for a second full week, and the fountain will be turned off and fully drained by the last week of the month.

Enterprise Services maintains the 435-acre Capitol Campus, which includes Sylvester, Heritage and Marathon parks.
