Tree work scheduled on Capitol Campus September 2

OLYMPIA — Deceased trees near the southeast corner of the Employment Security Department Building and atop the State Archives Building will be removed on Monday, Sept. 2. New trees will be planted on the Capitol Campus later in the year.

The Washington State Department of Enterprise Services has contracted with Timm’s Tree Care of Lacey for the removal effort

The work will impact pedestrian traffic along Maple Park Avenue between Franklin Street and Capitol Way. There will be no pedestrian impacts near the Archives Building.

There will be noise from chainsaws, tree chippers and stump grinders during the work. Work near the Archives Building will begin at 7 a.m., and work near the ESD Building will start mid-morning.
