Enterprise Services adopts minor updates to Capitol Campus parking rules

Effort separate from rulemaking on enforceable parking restrictions with a focus on Deschutes Parkway

OLYMPIA — The Washington State Department of Enterprises has adopted minor changes to the Capitol Campus parking rules. The changes do not introduce new rules or alter current practices.

This work is separate from the rulemaking on enforceable parking restrictions with a focus on Deschutes Parkway.

The updated rules (WAC 200-200 become effective on March 14. The purpose of the update was clarification and clean-up: Making sure the parking rules are clear, accurate, and align with the current campus parking requirements.

DES would like to thank everyone who provided input during the rulemaking process.

Before adopting the updates, DES worked with stakeholders on a rule draft between September and early December to:

  • Reveal any places where we missed clean up or alignment (are there any inconsistencies), including use of terminology and definitions; and
  • Make sure the draft rules are clear and easy to understand.

After proposing the rule updates, DES held a 37-day formal comment period, including a Jan. 23 public hearing.
