The Department of Enterprise Services is committed to making sure everyone can access our information, programs, and services without barriers or discrimination.
Filing a Complaint About Discrimination
Our complaint process is here to make sure we meet federal and state nondiscrimination laws, including the Civil Rights Act, the Rehabilitation Act, the Age Discrimination Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
You can use this process if you believe you were discriminated against in a DES program or service.
Employment-related complaints (such as discrimination or retaliation at work) are handled under state law and DES’ workplace policies on reasonable accommodation, discrimination, and harassment prevention.
How to file a complaint
- Complete the form on this page. Be sure to include your name and contact information, when and where the issue happened, and a description of what occurred.
- If you need another way to file, such as an in-person or virtual interview, or if you need interpreter/translator help, please send a request to accessibility@des.wa.gov.
- Complaints should be submitted as soon as possible, but no later than 180 days after the incident.
If you prefer, you may choose to file a complaint with the Washington State Human Rights Commission (WSHRC) or the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Civil Rights.
