This course focuses on interpersonal conflict and provides you with strategies to effectively identify underlying issues. It also emphasizes prioritizing these issues in relation to organizational goals and facilitating resolutions. You will gain an understanding of various conflict resolution methods, including one-to-one conversations, mediation, and arbitration. You will also evaluate your own dispute handling style and how it interacts with other styles in different situations. By understanding the influence of internal pressures and stress on behavior, you will be better equipped to navigate and resolve conflicts.

Performance Objectives: Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Uncover the root causes of conflicts and know how to address them.
  • Develop and use a systematic, organized approach for managing conflicts.
  • Apply a model for assessing conflict and choose the appropriate conflict resolution method.
  • Explain the various techniques for resolving conflicts, including one-to-one conversations, negotiation, arbitration, mediation, and litigation.
