Where: In and above the House and Senate Chambers of the Legislative Building, including the roof and attic space, and nearby utility rooms.

What's happening: As part of work to restore the Legislative Building skylights, DES will be inspecting the skylights and conducting acoustic testing in the House and Senate chambers.

Impact: Expect loud, percussive sounds during acoustic testing. Crews will be intermittently popping balloons to generate loud bursts of noise. You do not need to contact campus security about the testing.

Please make plans with your supervisor to work elsewhere if the noise would be startling or unsettling to you.

A crew of approximately 15 people will be visible moving throughout the chambers, through mechanical spaces, and on the roof of the building.

When: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 5.

The Washington State Department of Enterprise Services has contracted with Architectural Resources Group of Portland, Oregon for this effort.
