Campus buildings go cold Dec. 15

Most Capitol Campus buildings will be without heat or hot water from about 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 while Enterprise Services makes repairs to the steam system at the campus powerhouse.

The affected buildings include:

  • Archives
  • Cherberg
  • Employment Security
  • General Administration
  • Governor's residence
  • Highways-Licenses
  • Insurance
  • Legislative
  • Newhouse
  • O'Brien
  • Office Building 2
  • Pritchard
  • Temple of Justice

Enterprise Services operates and monitors the steam generation equipment at the Capitol Campus powerhouse, the building with the tall smokestack next to Capitol Lake.

The repairs require an outage of the entire campus steam system. The powerhouse burns natural gas to produce steam for heating and hot water in most campus buildings.
